Where is the Bangkok Big Buddha Instagrammable viewpoint?

Now you’ve seen the Bangkok Big Buddha up close, it’s time to find the Instagrammable viewpoint across the river. I found this viewpoint by finding this location on Google Maps and following it until I got there. As you can see below it was only a quick 9 minute walk.

As anyone who has used Google Maps in Bangkok would know, it’s not the most reliable app for the city’s many small streets and alleyways – often sending you down very random side streets rather than the more obvious place to walk. Just be sure you’re on the right street each time you do have to make a turn. As you approach the turn off to the viewpoint there are two alleys. Obviously the owners are a bit fed up of everyone going down the wrong alley and they have put a sign up saying ‘Dead End’ on the wrong alley. So just be sure to head down the alley that doesn’t have this sign (just keep in mind when looking at Google Maps it can be a little hard to differentiate them).

Head down this path towards the viewpoint

At the end of the pathway, you’ll meet the river and the famous Instagrammable viewpoint of the Bangkok Big Buddha. When I visited there was only one other person here and we took turns to get photos. There were numerous boat tours going pass but otherwise it was very quiet and peaceful and the perfect spot to snap an Instagrammable shot of the Bangkok Big Buddha.
