The Blue Pearl of Morocco, Chefchaouen is one of the most picturesque places in Morocco, recommended by Lonely Planet and a must do bucket list destination. Close to Tangier and famous for being painted in different shades of vibrant blue, this village is populated by tourists every year who flock to explore the vibrant streets.
I visited for the day in 2019 and had a great time wandering through the village. I was on a tour of Morocco that unfortunately did not visit Chefchaouen. However, i was determined to visit The Blue Pearl and left my tour to visit the village. I visited solo; however, made friends with two Americans I met on the day and spent most of the day running around and laughing, before finishing with a quick bite to eat (so quick, from memory, mine was actually just a fresh fruit smoothie) on a rooftop cafe overlooking the village.
Scroll down for my Chefchaouen photo diaries. Apologies in advance for the number of photos of me twirling in the streets, fair warning, there are a lot. No apologies for the number of cute blue doors I photographed, I just couldn’t stop.
Thank you for sticking through to the end. I hope you are inspired to visit the majestic Blue Pearl of Morocco. I will visit again in a heart beat.
