Wat Arun in Bangkok is a must do for all tourists visiting Thailand’s capital. In addition to the many beautiful photo opportunities in the day, Wat Arun lights up at night making it a beautiful structure to photograph in the evening as well. Many visitors to Wat Arun will spend time taking photos within the beautiful temple grounds but if you want a different type of a shot or don’t have time to enter Wat Arun there is a lesser known street photography style view of Wat Arun found just over the river. I stumbled across it in the evening so my photos are at night, but this street is accessible at all times so you can visit it when it suits you. Personally, I thought it looked spectacular at night.

How to find the Wat Arun street photo view
To get to the Wat Arun street photo spot, put Make Me Mango Tha Tian into Google Maps (or click on this Google Maps link here to find the right place) as this will take you to the correct street for the Wat Arun street view.
As you enter the street, don’t be surprised if you let out a “woah” at the view (I did myself and heard two other people react the same way as I was leaving).
You can capture Wat Arun from the start of the street or further down pending your own photography style. Just keep in mind that once you reach the river though there is a bit of infrastructure that will stop you from capturing a straight on view of Wat Arun like you can from further back. Enjoy!
