Visiting Rome? Then on top of seeing all the must do historical and beautiful sights of the city, finding the perfect place to stay within easy access distance to the best places in Rome must be on the top of your list!
On a recent visit to Rome, I stayed at Hotel Gregoriana and if you want the short version of this blog, you should also stay here as it was fantastic. If you’re into a bit of a longer read (with pictures attached, of course!) continue on to discover why you need to stay at Hotel Gregoriana on your next visit to Rome.
First things first, where is Hotel Gregoriana?
This officially rated 3 star hotel (although, just check out some of the Hotel Gregoriana views on TripAdvisor UK, those 4.5 star ratings speak for themselves!) can be found in the centre of Rome. Hotel Gregoriana official address is Via Gregoriana, 18, 00187 Roma RM, Italy; however, it’s also known (even by Google!) as the hotel just 3 minutes walk from the Spanish Steps.
In addition to being within a stone’s throw away from the Spanish Steps, Hotel Gregoriana is also within walking distance to the Trevi Fountain (7 minutes walk), Pantheon (15 minutes walk) and Colosseum (25 minutes walk), which were all places I explored during my short but sweet stay with Hotel Gregoriana.
How to get to Hotel Gregoriana
Visiting from London, I arrived at Rome’s Ciampino Airport. From here I opted to take a very common way into the centre of Rome by buying a ticket for a bus and a train (you can learn more about this here: Ciampino Airlink), which brought me to Roma Termini, in the centre of Rome. From here I chose to walk the 25 minutes to the hotel; however, there are other bus and taxi options available.
Deluxe Double Room with Balcony
I stayed in the Deluxe Double Room with balcony during my time in Rome. The room was spacious, with a bed, large mirrored wardrobe, television, desk, free wifi, large bathroom with a bath and shower, and a gorgeous balcony overlooking the nearby buildings. It was also extremely comfortable and the perfect place to base myself in between adventuring across Rome. Find out more about the rooms on offer.
In addition to the above, the hotel concierge is available 24 hours a day. You can check in from 3pm and check out before 11am. For up to date information on the services available see the official website.
Rome sights in walking distance of Hotel Gregoriana
As mentioned above, a major plus about Hotel Gregoriana is how many incredible Roman sights are found within walking distance. Due to this hotel’s prime location, you can spend more time admiring the famous buildings and structures and less time commuting between your accommodation and what you actually want to see.
While I was only visiting Rome for one night, I managed to see the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and, of course, the Colosseum!
And don’t forget, breakfast!
Continental breakfast is included in your stay at Hotel Gregoriana and there are a range of menu options to suit a variety of tastes. We enjoyed our breakfast in the breakfast room; however, you can also enjoy breakfast in your own room.
Did you know?
Hotel Gregoriana is not just centrally located, it is also located within the walls of a 1600 convent. The hotel has kept the 17th century charm through careful restoration, meaning when you stay here you are experiencing a small piece of Roman history as well.
You can book this incredible hotel yourself here on their official website.
