I moved to Cairns with my family at the end of 2007, and although we were immediately out on the reef a lot, it wasn’t until the beginning of 2015, over 7 years later, that I first visited Fitzroy Island. Despite it being only a 50 minute journey from the Cairns harbour.
I don’t really have the words to describe what I love about this place, just it’s completely almost untouched beauty. Since visiting Fitzroy Island the first time and now I’ve been back 7 times, not too shabby for the fact that in this time I’ve barely been in Cairns.
